About the
Lehigh Valley Catz |
| Each summer about 25 young men, top
collegiate baseball players from all across the USA, come here to
the Lehigh Valley to chase their dreams of one day becoming a
professional baseball player. They come here from places like Texas,
Arkansas and Georgia just to play for the Lehigh Valley Catz in the
prestigious Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League, one of only nine
summer leagues in existence across the country that is supported and
sanctioned by Major League Baseball and the NCAA.
The ACBL is a
summer wooden bat league about to enter its 42nd year of existence
this summer and has produced many current and former big leaguers’
including Craig Biggio, Jamie Moyer, Matt Morris,
Rick Cerone, Frank
Viola and local product Pat Kelly.
In 2006, the Catz enter our 8th
summer of bringing great baseball to the area, with a history that
includes capturing 3 championships and seeing 22 former Catz players
gone on to play professionally.
The Lehigh Valley Catz, no big egos,
just great baseball! |
